Lactation Services

Natural doesn’t always mean easy. Breastfeeding is a skill. It can take some time, practice and patience. We serve families across Hawaii, including in-home services on the North Shore of Oahu covering Waialua, Haleiwa, and Pupukea. Our tailored lactation services offer compassionate support for parents navigating the challenges of breastfeeding, from prenatal education to postpartum care. We’re here to help parents overcome challenges and establish positive feeding relationships with their babies.

Some of the services that we provide:

  • Prenatal Breastfeeding Education: Provide expectant parents with information about breastfeeding/chestfeeding, including its benefits, techniques, and common challenges. This education can help prepare parents for successful feeding journeys.

  • Postpartum Breastfeeding Support: Offer hands-on support and guidance to new parents. We help with latching, positioning, and milk expression techniques. We also address common feeding issues such as sore nipples, low milk supply, and mastitis. We use evidence-based solutions and strategies to address these issues.

  • Breastfeeding Assessment: Assess feeding techniques and identify any potential issues that may be affecting milk production or the baby's latch. We provide specific recommendations to improve feeding efficiency and comfort.

  • Pumping and Storage Education: For working parents or those who need to express milk for various reasons, we provide guidance on proper pumping techniques, milk storage, and handling.

  • Emotional Support: Feeding can be emotionally demanding. We provide emotional support and encouragement to parents and help address any feelings of anxiety, stress, or inadequacy related to feeding.
